Mother’s Day Weekend

My Mother’s Day started off on a good note when I attended Katrina’s Mother’s Day Tea at school.  My older kids have all done this and I love the fact that I know what songs they’ll sing.  Katrina’s performance did not disappoint!  I went to the office to get tissues as there were none around- rude!  I always need them when I see my kids sing about how much they love me!  And this kindergarten age is just about my favorite because they are so sweet and innocent.  Of course, I cried a few tears remembering Mara’s Tea and how proud of her I was as she struggled to do all the actions from the songs.  It’s been very healing to have Natalie and now Katrina perform for me!

I am so happy to be Katrina’s mommy!

My family was very good to me when Mother’s Day was actually here!  Bryan stayed home from a lot of his church meetings which was nice! Really couldn’t have been better unless I’d been with my mom and mother-in-law!

Sadie’s drawing for me- I think it’s a paint pad.  Actually she said it’s a cactus…..no a bowling ball.  Who knows for sure?

Some dolphin paraphernalia from Katrina.

Natalie made this awesome banner that shows how much she loves me!

Lets get a closer look at that one:

And my son sewed for me!  Yes, really!

and how about a close up of that one?

So of course, I wore it to church!  When else can you wear a purple wonder woman cape?  He even wrote a note about how I was a “super hero.”  Pretty darn cute!

At Church, my friend Janelle gave me this darling necklace she made for me.  Seeing my nest filled with my 5 chickens gave me such peace.  It was just about the most thoughtful thing anyone’s ever given me!

Also wore my “Happy Mother’s Day” necklace that Mara made for me and the noodle necklace Sadie made at playgroup!

Finished off the day with a trip to visit Mara and some of this Cheescake Factory deliciousness.  Seriously, what more could I ask for?

While I am far from being the mother that I should be, I am grateful every day that I get the chance to try it at all.  I’m glad for forgiving children and for remarkable examples all around me.  Especially those found in my own mothers and grandmothers.  They are astounding!  Thank goodness these babies of mine are mine forever- gives me time to try and get it right.
