Update

Feb 2020, part 1

The beginning of the month was marked with orchestra Solo and Ensemble. I had the chance to accompany my beautiful girls + 5 other students from Katrina’s middle school. As you can see from this pic, when Natalie wears flats and Katrina wears heels, they are about the same height!

The girls did amazing! Katrina got a 1 on her Seitz Concerto- the highest score they hand out to middle schoolers. Natalie’s solo got 2nd alternate to state! I am so glad she did this solo. She debated her participation because she is no longer taking private lessons and she wondered if she had it in her. Luckily she was able to resurrect “Allegro Appasionato” a piece she learned last spring. She did really well.

Natalie’s and Claire’s Beethoven duet got 1st alternate to state! Pretty amazing! I was bummed Katrina and I had to listen from the hallway as their times were back to back. Luckily Dad was in the room and caught a video!

Max turned 20! It was the first time I’ve celebrated one of my kid’s bdays without them at home. Kinda weird! I was relieved the package we sent him made it to Rexburg. He had the self control to not open it until his actual birthday and then FaceTime while he opened it with Sadie and I. One of the things I sent him was a cake mix and frosting. I hoped he would bake it and share with some friends for his bday. Luckily, he had a FHE activity that night and actually baked the cake. I was so happy about that! I sure hope 20 is HIS YEAR! Love this boy and have great hope in who he will choose to become in his life!

Natalie had her first real date with Brandon. She and Claire asked the boys and planned the date. They all seemed to have a great time bowling and then hide and seek at the mall.

Hip hooray for sunny days! After the crazy rain in January, February has been MUCH better in the sunshine department!

Looks like they were playing Noah’s Ark with all the animals.

Got myself a little treat after my annual mammogram. Never fun but must be done!

Sadie dressed up for “Hero Day” at school. Can you guess who she picked? Melts my momma heart!

I found this in Katrina’s school work and thought she did a pretty good job of describing herself. What a kid!

Recorder karate has been in full force. Sadie finished all the belts available to her and even received the “golden recorder” award. Whew! That was intense!

The older girls had a piano recital and did really well, both of them. They played the songs that they prepared for piano solo and ensemble. Well done, ladies!

Grandma and Grandpa Adams had some love to spread in the form of theater tickets this month. Round 1 included Sadie and I seeing “Frozen.” I gotta be honest, I wondered if the show would be a little cliche but I was wrong! It was so good and we loved it so much! Definitely worth staying up late on a school night.

Yep, that’s the sure sign of Grandpa spoiling Sadie with souvenirs.

Since G & G had theater tickets two nights in a row, they stayed at our house. We were so glad they spent some time with us! Unfortunately, Bryan was out of town for much of their visit.

While the girls were at school, Nadine and I went to the movies to see “Little Women.” It was sooooooo good and we both and a decent cry. I loved this new version that just came out! Roger saved that show for the ladies and saw a war movie at the same time. This whole scene left me wondering why in the world I’ve never gone to the movies during the day before?

On night 2, Natalie (and friend Lindsey) got to see Bliss with G & G. They didn’t know what to expect but in the end LOVED the show. Thanks G&G for showering us with love and spending time with us!
